Our female and male grade rowing squads are focused on competing at local, state and national level.
But don't let the serious competive nature of the crew scare you - they certainly know how to have fun when they row due to the strong relationships that have been built across the squad.
These squads will generally train on the water 2-3 times a week across various crew combinations and boat sizes. Land-based training sessions and training plans are also made available.
Grade squads will compete at various target regattas throughout the year, predominantly within the local Victorian region. However, some crews are also selected to compete at the Australian Rowing Championships and/or elect to compete at the Australian Selection Trials.
These squads are strong in experience, which allows them to be competitive against local and state crews. Our grade squad is very social, so self selections of crews, and mixing and matching of genders in crews tends to happen during squad training sessions. However, for target regattas, crews are created through the Club selection process conducted by the Head of Selectors, Head Coach and Club Captain.
To become a grade squad member, you are required to be a member of Power House Rowing Club.
