Pasta nights

Published Mon 16 Dec 2024

The end of 2024 saw the return of the infamous PHRC pasta nights.

In total we had three evenings with about 20 members at each event.

We kicked off the program with a visit by Olympian and super masters rowing legend Peter Antonie explaining how PHRC was a pivotal part of his rowing journey and encouraging the club to push ahead with plans to participate in Head of the Charles or Henley in 2026.

The second evening was a great club event with trained members passing on their insight into the how what and when to use the defib machine and outline some great first aid advice. Thanks Freezer, Jodie and Linda.

The final event for 2024 saw the return of club life member and all-round good guy Drew to give us the 101 of boat rigging – plus a lot more. We did just over a hour and half of boat set up – things to check and how to – measure pitch and adjust the boats – it could have gone on for hours. There was video of the evening taken by Ross which will be posted at a later date.

I would like to say a big thanks to Phil and Linda for being great support in getting food ready, and also thanks to everyone who helped each night. They are easy to run, a good little addition to the club calendar, and hopefully something we can continue to grow in 2025.

The plan for 2025 is the same – first Wednesday of each month (back in Feb) and we'd love to see you all there.
