Corio Masters Regatta 2023

Published Sat 22 Apr 2023

On 22nd April 2023 Power House Rowing Club rowed in the 2023 Corio Masters Rowing Regatta.

Rising at the crack of dawn, rowers hit the road and headed to Geelong for a great day of rowing and comradery.

The club had 23 member and 2 coxens compete in 18 events throughout the day. There were many tales to tell - stories you can only understand if you were there competing like:

  • Who lost their steering and zig zagged the entire course, then got out of the boat to fall in a heap of laughter?
  • How many crews had thrilling finishes and nearly medalled... but ended up with second place against stiff and well fought competion?
  • And why did half the club have mushrooms for breakfast the Sunday morning after?

Half the joy of competition is the shared experiences. And there were certainly many to be had at this regatta.

Regardless of whether you won or not, all Power House Rowing Club members who chose to compete enjoyed the day and did the club proud. Well done House on another successful rowing regatta.

Thanks to Stephen and Deb Spring for volunteering to umpire at the event, and to John Atchison for towing the trailer. It is volunteers like you that help make regattas great for all of us!
